Friday 19th Sept 2025
After fajr prayer, we left the kids at the Hotel room. Lukman was still asleep. The others watched tv. The only time they could agree on watching the same thing because there were no other choice since the hotel's tv only has Nickelodeon. Boleh pulak elok je tengok tak gaduh.
So we left them, konon nak briskwalk sambil tunggu sunrise. This was rare opportunity. I realized that we have came so far. We have passed the phase of the kids cannot be left unattended. Now that Our eldest is 13 years old... and Lukman is almost 4.
We went down, past by the swimming pool, to the beach. Subhanallah magnificient dusk scenery. It was 6.40 am, the sun had not risen but we could already streak of lights seeping through the horizon. Black, blue, orange hues ...
Sitting down immersing ourselves with the view for some moment then we went to the jetty nearby and watch the sunrise from there
It was only few hundreds meters from our hotel room, not enough for a briskwalk. Then we went around the area.. out of the hotel's compound.. into the main road.
We passed by all the nelayan traditional kampung houses. All with unique designs. Some are well maintained, some are run down. But the essence of rumah nelayan is still there. I thought of arwah Kak Y, and how she mentioned she had one unit here. I wondered which one. We used to plan on going here together , Geng bilik sejuk, once upon a time. And now... she's no longer with us. Life's fleeting moments...
Then we decided to walk further, to Medan Selera Tanjung Balau. We saw some lights that means there must be gerai that was opened this early. Well, not so early anymore, it was way passed 7 am. So maybe we could tapau something for our breakfast. And yes, the gerai that opened had many choices of breakfast.

I abandoned this entry, regrettably. Because what happened next that day was something that lingered in my mind for awhile. We met arwah kak Y’s husband. He was alone, spending time in their unit, the one i wondered about just moments before.
